SUMMARY

The Baltimore Neighborhoods Indicators Alliance (BNIA) is an open source data gathering organization whose goal is to strengthen Baltimore neighborhoods by providing meaningful, accurate, and open data at the community level. They have agreed to partner with the MICA Data Analytics and Visualization program Fall 2020 cohort to develop visualizations that support and advance their mission.

PROJECT BRIEF

Using the BNIA Vital Signs data, conceive, develop, and design a data-driven visualization that aligns the needs, priorities and preferences of your audience.

After looking around the BNIA website and thinking about their mission, I realized that there weren’t resources for children - a vital part to every community.

With this activity book, I wanted to introduce data, increase data literacy, and give children creative agency to explore information about their city and selves.

This is part one of a larger series that I am currently working on.
